Getting help to where it’s most needed is the eternal challenge for charities of all kinds.
It’s also something of a specialty for Crown Worldwide Group—in more ways than one.
This year Crown’s regional office for Germany, Austria and Switzerland announced its support for Building with Bouma’s, a foundation that develops schools in Zambia.
Crown sponsored the larger part of the container transport costs the foundation incurred in delivering much needed supplies. Containers with school supplies and furniture were shipped to Zambia and immediately dispatched to several sites around the country.
On behalf of Crown Worldwide Group, Jurgen Zyderveld, Crown Regional Director for Germany, Austria and Switzerland, sponsored the project, which represents an extension of support for a broad range of causes and outreach programs as part of Crown’s commitment to corporate social responsibility.
Building with Bouma’s is dedicated to supporting local projects in developing countries in the South African region. Its work includes building schools and supplying wells for fresh water in Zambia. The country’s economy cannot support rapid population growth which, combined with an HIV/AIDS epidemic, is putting unbearable pressure on the country’s meager resources.
