Those who have been there may understand why Melbourne hits the spot. With such a diverse offering, it’s easy to see why Melbourne remains the most livable location.
Prestigious publication, The Economist, recently released this year’s “liveability index”, which values 30 factors relating to safety, healthcare, educational resources, infrastructures, transports and environment for 140 cities around the world. And, Melbourne topped the leaderboard.
We got in touch with Russell Barber, Crown Relocations’ State Manager – Victoria, to get his opinion on why his city ticks all the boxes. He said, “I guess we are extremely lucky to live in such a vibrant city, that has so much to offer. Residents of our city are very lucky that we experience a very safe environment in a melting pot of different cultures. Foodies get to enjoy many first class restaurants and an array of food festivals. There is something for every sports fan, the Formula One Grand Prix takes place here every March around Albert Park with a fantastic view of the city in the background, something that never gets old. We are the only city in the world that grants a public holiday for a horse race, the Melbourne Cup takes place the first Tuesday in November and the Australian Open is held every January. Other entertainment includes the best garden show outside of Chelsea in the UK, lots of music concerts to choose from and a very trendy bar culture. Our team here in Melbourne are all very proud to have either come from this city or to have chosen such a lovely place to live.”
