We recently launched a new initiative that will greatly improve service delivery processes. Using technology provided by third party supplier Roambee, we have introduced real-time temperature monitoring and location tracking services to all of our domestic consignments.
Roambee is a pay as you go service comprising of a small wireless device added to consignments that enables the 24/7 tracking of shipments. Through a comprehensive
Management Information System, we are able to generate detailed reports on the status of consignments. Its introduction allows the team even closer visibility of delivery schedules, reduces spend on communication charges and delivers instant status updates and information for payment of any additional transportation charges.
In addition, the device will enable us to monitor the performance of different transport vendors and assess the efficiency of each vendor's performance. Unlike GPS, it is not vehicle specific nor requires open sky view. Consequently any vehicle change or route deviation can be tracked, enhancing the reliability of India's operations.
The adoption of this new technology is part of a wider project being undertaken by Crown's management team in South Asia, to improve and upgrade the service culture within the organization. The unique features will directly benefit our clients through greater awareness of the status of their consignments, selection of the most cost efficient transportation vendors and additional peace of mind generated through real time reporting.
