Visa waiver extension
The Vietnamese Government has announced that it will extend the 15-day visa waiver for nationals of France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom for another year (until June 30, 2018). The terms of the extension remain unchanged. These are as follows:
- The visa waiver will allow entry and a period of stay in Vietnam for up to 15 days without pre-approval.
- The interview between the last exit and the new entry date must be 30 days or more.
- Foreigners who enter Vietnam under the visa waiver must have a passport valid for six months or more.
- There are no extensions and the traveler must depart after 15 days.
90-day visa waiver for nationals of Chile
Additionally, Chile nationals traveling on ordinary passports are now exempt from obtaining a visa to visit Vietnam for a period of up to 90 days. The visit may be for tourist or business purposes but activities should avoid any form of remuneration. This exemption will apply until further notice.
