We spoke to our Sales Manager, Samuel Mwangi about his experience working for Crown Relocations and his top tips to help you plan your next international move.
How long have you been working for Crown Relocations?
I have been a member of the Crown Relocations team for eight years now, how time flies!
Tell us about your role at Crown.
I manage the end to end process for our Crown Relocations customers. From the moment a customer completes our enquiry form I will be their main point of contact. This includes conducting the surveys to assess the move volume, quoting for the move costs and eventually managing our customer’s moves. I’ll be there every step of the way.
What has been the highlight of your time at Crown so far?
Over my eight years at Crown Relocations there have been many highlights but there are a few that stand out brighter. I’ve had the chance to meet so many people from all walks of life, from top CEO’s to Heads of Diplomatic Missions and many other people from across the world. It’s been a privilege to be even a small part of their moving stories.
Crown also gave me a great opportunity to travel to South Africa for the first time in 2014 to attend training. As a global company with offices across the world, moments like these where you get to visit other countries and meet your fellow colleagues are always enjoyable. Really makes you aware of how big the Crown family is.
Can you tell us what about one of your favourite moves to support?
One that stands out is when I helped an older couple retire to Vanuatu. This is one of my favourite moves for many reasons. It was my first time hearing about this country and required a different move process. But most importantly, we could delight our customers! The couple were very excited that we would be able to manage their move after facing rejection from other moving companies.
They had a collection of precious items ranging from pieces of art to cameras and statues from various countries. I’m glad I could help them live out their dream of retiring in Vanuatu and their precious collection arrived safely with them.
In your experience, are there any common concerns people have when they’re planning a move?
To me, the main concern across the board is anxiety. Specifically, people are majorly worried whether their items will arrive safely and in one piece. Having a reliable company like Crown Relocations, coupled with the re-assurance that we give them, and proven track record we have, I am able to offer peace of mind and ease their anxiety.
