We spoke to our Regional Corporate Services Senior Consultant , Jessie De Ryck about her experience working for Crown Relocations and top tips to help you plan your next international move.
How long have you been working for Crown Relocations?
I have been working at Crown for 12 years now. During that time I have had many different roles within the organisation, from Sales to move management, Mobility, Shipping and currently am managing sales for the 3rd country Middle East Region.
Have you moved internationally yourself?
I moved from South African to Abu Dhabi and am now back in Dubai.
What lessons did you discover from your own move?
An international move can be very overwhelming, especially when you have deadlines. But I was very comfortable with the team I worked with; they had the knowledge and skills to make my move as stress free as possible.
Every country is different, even if you're a seasoned mover. There are always many factors that can change. Even moving to the same country again, visas and immigration laws change constantly and having the right support really makes a difference.
How long have you lived in Dubai?
I have lived in Abu Dhabi for two years and been in Dubai since 2018.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I really enjoy fine dining and going to the beach. My favourite thing is going on treasure hunts and visiting water parks with my daughter.
Can you explain more about what a Regional Sales Manager does?
I am the first person you speak to at the beginning of your move and the last person at the end of your move. My clients have a fully managed, one point of contact relocation process.
What do you enjoy most about your role at Crown?
I enjoy being able to give my clients peace of mind and deliver a smooth service that makes their relocation a more pleasant experience. I also really enjoy when customers give great feedback on the service they received.
What has been the highlight of your career so far?
Managing all third country sales and relocations in the Middle East region. I also received the prestigious Crown Quest Award for quality.
What has been your favourite move to work on?
One client had numerous moves within the GCC one after the other. We had to plan around many timelines, it was a lot of work but very rewarding. I am glad that my mobility experience combined with my logistics and moving expertise paid off to easily tackle the challenges and make it as stress free as possible for the client.
